Drop Earrings Not Bombs is a small project created in 2017 by a women-led social enterprise Muhra, in Istanbul, Turkey. Muhra is an Arabic word for the female foal, representing female leaders’ strength and vitality. They teach Syrian female artisans to design and handcraft these beautiful earrings.
This project provides enough flexibility for the Syrian artisans. They can work based on their family schedule to find the right balance between taking care of family needs while having a dignified income.

Care for plated jewelry
Silver and gold naturally tarnish over time with exposure to the environment. It can be cleaned with a silver or gold dip solution and clean dry with a soft cloth.
Avoid contact with water and other liquids. To ensure that tarnishing doesn’t spoil your earrings, apply any perfume and facial products before putting on your earrings.

Brass
Being an alloy it will gradually patina over time with exposure to oxygen and moisture. This effect can be removed with a polish if you prefer a brass cleaner or a dry cloth.
Ingredients you may already have at home can be used too: mix lemon juice and baking soda into a paste, rub onto the surface with a cloth, rinse off with water, and buff dry.
